Phil had moved to Olympia in 1998. Ashlee in 2000. The day that would change both of their lives forever would happen 11 years later. The setting was a recreational soccer game. Ashlee went to the game with her friend to watch her friend's future husband play. Phil prepared for the game like any other. He put on his #14 jersey, laced up his cleats and started playing.
Then it happened - Ashlee saw Phil and time stood still.
Three years later, if you spend any amount of time with Phil & Ashlee, it's very easy to see how much in love these two are with each other. Glances, laughs and holds that make each other feel loved.
We were honored to shoot their baseball themed engagement photography session in Olympia recently. It came as no surprise when we found out they wanted the theme of the photo shoot to be baseball. Phil is die hard New York sports fan.
With their wedding day set and planning underway, we know they will spend an amazing day celebrating their love for one another with family and friends.
We had a lot of fun taking portraits of Spencer who is a character and had us laughing through the entire shoot. Not posted on this blog are all of the outtake photos of funny poses and laughing.
Spencer is a senior at Quartz Hill High School in Southern California. He likes football and for some reason he's a Patriots fan :). He has a passion for the culinary arts and photography. He enjoys photographing landscapes and the night sky.
Have a great senior year Spence!
There is a first time for everything, so this past weekend we setup a photobooth at Yelm Prairie Days to have some fun and create photostrip memories for everyone. We also had numerous opportunities to promote our business and are fortunately looking forward to a 1 year old photo shoot next weekend. We had a number of great photos, have a look at some of the highlights.
...and the photographers.
A friend of Tori, Katie is also attending Corban University in Salem, Oregon and majoring in Communications. She is from Redding, California and we're very jealous of the fact that she can have In-N-Out on a regular basis while back home.
An avid movie and TV show watcher, she can practically quote any movie that you throw at her, with Sherlock as one of her favorites. Coffee, coffee, coffee!
We had the great opportunity to take a few portraits of Brittney and her great smile in Downtown Olympia. We did have a hard time getting her to make a more serious face. Every time we would setup the shot, Brittney would start laughing. "I just can't do the serious face", she said while laughing. This is just one example of her uplifting spirit. A graduate of Yelm High School, she is attending college with the ambition of becoming a teacher. We know that with Brittney's attitude and determination, she will become an amazing teacher to little ones.
We had the pleasure of taking Tori's portraits last weekend and had a great time. We met her in Downtown Olympia and walked around the water. Tori is attending Corban University in Salem, Oregon and is looking forward to her upcoming trip to Europe through her school. She is enjoying her time at school and planning on a career in youth ministry.
Rachel will be graduating from Rainier High School this coming year. We had the opportunity to have two photo sessions with Rachel. The first was at Olympia's capitol buildings. It was a bit cold, so we moved quick, but we ended up with great shots! Our second photo session was on a rare sunny day at the end of November. We were very happy to be able to capture some of the sunlight in Rachel's portraits.
One item that she had to be photographed with was Mom's red scarf. We're not quite sure if Rachel borrowed Mom's scarf or if she's just claimed it as her own, but she wore it well :)
We wish her well in the American Legion Speech & Poetry Out Loud Competitions. She is also involved in the Don't Text & Drive Program.
Thanks again Rachel, we hope your have a fantastic rest of your Senior year!
We had a playful day with a lot of laughing and great pictures at the Capitol Building in Olympia WA. It reminded us that sometimes breaking a pose to do some laughing makes some of the best pictures. We had a wonderful opportunity to take engagement photos for Dillon & Megan, which gave Megan a chance to show off Dillon's Grandmother's ring. Thank you Dillon and Megan for the opportunity to share in your joy. Check out the pictures below to see just how much fun we had.
We had another fun day of taking photos, this time of Phil & Ashlee. For the city/urban setting we headed down to downtown Olympia, WA. We did plenty of walking and all felt like we were ready for nap when we finished, but we had a great time in the process. Thank you guys for letting us take these photos. I'll let the photos do the talking :)
We were very excited to take our new nephew, Haddyn's, newborn photo this past month. At 13 days, he was as calm and cool as can be. Mom and Dad were great to work with and were definitely prepared with various hats and blankets. Thanks again for giving us the opportunity to take these photos!
